My favorite items to bring on trips

No point telling you my life story like it's a recipe site. I have been traveling for a while and these are my favorite cheap things that have been useful. The end.

E-Sims

Technically not a thing but it's such a godsend I need to include it.

Naïve me would upgrade my google Fi to the international plan every time I'd travel to Europe, paying $60 more for the month. Now I get E-sims everywhere. It's customizable to how long I will travel for and how much data I need and I haven't run into any problems service wise on trips to Taiwan, Berlin and Poland so far. All three times the price was under $25 for two weeks and more data than I needed. I use Nomad but any good one will do I assume.

Matador soap pack

This thing really is magical. I bought it from REI for $13 and it's been worth every penny. Water never leaks out of it but all the water still somehow gets out so the soap is dry when you take it out for next day's shower. This might be my favorite little item on this list.

Wired earbuds

I have a simple $20 earbuds that have a USB-C adapter for today's phones. It's so nice not having another device I have to be aware of charging, and it's great being able to remove the adapter and use it for the flight. The simplicity of plug and play with any device is just so easy and I'm realizing how much I missed that about wired stuff. The sound quality is also better than any other sub $100 wireless earbuds I've owned. Think I've come full circle on wired products recently.

MINIX 66W Travel Adapter

I used to have an old square block adapter and they did the job fine, but I wasn't happy with them once I started onebagging, not just because of their size but because I'd still need to carry a wall charger if I wanted to use it to charge a laptop, adding to my weight. This is so much smaller and perfect for my use case. I generally keep it in an outside pocket with a C-to-C cable and it's easy charging at the airport for my laptop or phone, and since the adapters come separately I can only bring the ones I need for my trip.
