Citadel - A gentle nostalgia trip

Citadel - A gentle nostalgia trip

A decade after finishing the Mass Effect saga, I finally went back to play the Citadel DLC that I had wanted to so badly back then. It wasn't what I had hoped for in all the ways. Seems maybe time won the battle over nostalgia.

I craved every scene with Jack, my romantic interest from the trilogy. Other than her my other squadmates, even Wrex and Garrus, my boys evoked little emotion from me. After so long the connection I felt with my beloved Normandy squad maybe was severed.

The tribute to Thane was fantastic. He was along with Jack and Kelly my favorite crew members. Seeing Kelly's name on the fallen list did make me ache all over again, and the old guilt resurfaced over letting her die.

The final team picture made me happy. Even though the connection I once felt with my crew wasn't there anymore, this was the last memory of a game I loved and that was enough. Once upon a time they were my squad.
